Event planning
Boy, if it weren't for dealing with picky people I would love to be an event planner! I like event planning when I'm the one holding the event, anyway.
Tomorrow night we're having a ladies-only birthday party for our new assistant pastor's wife, Tracy. I've asked some of the ladies to bring food to share and I know for sure that we're having a vegetable appetizer pizza and some crab pasta salad, but I'm not sure what else will show up. I'm making a fruit salsa to serve with ginger chips (I'll post the recipe later) and a fruit-covered cheesecake (the birthday cake) plus lemonade and Tiger Tea to drink. I love Tiger Tea. It's a fruity tea that you make with oj concentrate, lemonade concentrate and regular tea.
We're playing a Tracy trivia game to help the ladies get to know more about her. If any of you have any ideas of games for her to get to know us, let me know asap!

Well, I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I once posted an introductions game that one of my profs had us play.Everyone gets a piece of paper, then they mill around, and introduce themselves to every other person in the group, and each person should tell an interesting fact about herself that the other will write down. They do need to tell a different fact to each person, no repeats. Then once everyone is done, the teacher (leader, whoever) calls out one person's name, that person can stand up or otherwise identify themselves (so Tracy knows who is who) and then people call out the interesting fact that they have written down about that person. Then you go on to the next person. So it might sound like "Sarah: "Was a home-ec major" "Has never seen an episode of I Love Lucy" "Just went on a roller coaster for the first time today" "Has 3 boys and a little girl" "Is a White Sox fan" etc. etc. so you can learn a lot about a person in a short time, and the facts can make a great opening for conversation once you get to talking with someone later. "So, you own 36 pairs of shoes, do you?"
You ARE one of the family's best hostesses, although I'd say you all are very hospitable, really!:) help people feel at home and have a good time..How very fitting that you are welcoming the one following in your footsteps...that's a good example of graciousness....btw, where is Tracy from? ..Have fun!
